Customer Reviews:
  1. Beautiful, but flawed
I bought this lantern for my sister for Christmas. It was beautiful coming out of the box, however, it had a minor flaw in the porcelain on one side. The flaw was almost small enough to not worry about, but for the price, I thought it should be perfect. We are dealing with exchanging it now,...
  2. Beautiful!
Beautiful lantern! Great look with the large and small pierced porcelain lanterns. The lantern was sent in very secured packaging and arrived as scheduled. Excellent quality and flawless. Thanks!

Nalley's food plant closes in Tacoma, workers try to move on

TACOMA - Fresh out of high school in 1973, Al Yerbury took a summer job in mind pickle jars at Nalley Fine Foods. His first job into a career there.

But when the factory closed last month, Tacoma Nalley Valley lost its namesake and the region lost 160 stable, middle-class jobs.

"You work in one place for 38 years and then all of a sudden you're being told you are no longer wanted," says Yerbury, 56. "It's a great shock to the system."

Once a local food manufacturer leader employing over 800 people, Nalley has gradually ceased production of peanut butter chips and pickles. The owners of the factory has changed, orders fell and cheaper substitutes moved its products on the shelves of grocery stores and cafeterias.

But the plant still produces a true pantry, such as canned soups for grocery chains or square boxes 30 pounds of mayonnaise for food service companies.

And he made the famous chili Nalley, a trademark of Northwest will now be made in Iowa. Nalley parent company, New Jersey Pinnacle Foods Group, is seeking to expand to new markets.

Transform Your Trash

I just wanted to see what would happen if I gave these bottles a second chance. Full disclosure: I was motivated not only by the thought of turning waste into something new, something useful, even something cool, but also by the fact that pots piled up my kitchen. You see, we are a family-centric jar, tearing through what I begin to think it is an abnormal amount of pickles, mustard (spicy French varieties and yellow), sauces both apple and tomatoes, and jams and jellies. Bright and sparkling, fresh from a wash, empty pots were exactly what I was missing.Without their sticky labels and content, these ships instantly found new homes as drinking glasses (drinking large pots on the rustic charm), loose-change containers, pens, and - my all-time favorite - vases . Nobody can resist a Mason jar filled with daisies. Person....

Carolina Sauce Company: Jolokia 10 Mustard

Unlike other hot mustards that rely on wasabi or horseradish for a sinus-clear kick, or on funky-tasting capsaicin extracts to artificially ratchet up the heat, Jolokia 10 Mustard does it the old-fashioned way with simple, natural ingredients. As you've probably figured from the name, the Naga (Bhut) Jolokia Pepper--recently recognized as the world's hottest hot pepper--plays a major role in this fiery mustard , and it's paired with ultra-hot Red Savina habanero peppers for additional dimensions of peppery flavor and fire. Because the base mustard used is a high-quality product, and no artificial heat-boosters have been added, your first taste will present the familiar flavor of a well-made yellow mustard. But within a few seconds the intense heat will announce its presence, and will build steadily with each bite until it is searingly hot. Yes, you might cry, but you'll be shedding tears of pleasure as well as pain as you discover what...
