  1. Gift for nephew
If you know the story, you will love this toy!! My nephew fell in love w/ the story and wanted an Elmer of his own. Even though it says it's a bean bag toy, it's much bigger than what you would imagine. Very soft and durable. My nephew LOVES it!!!
  2. Elephantine Affection for Elmer!
Just picked this guy up at our local Goodwill. I am not a total Neandertal; I always wash the stuffed animals that I purchase at thrift shops, but I do not enjoy telling munchkins for the umpteenth time that they cannot sleep with their newfound friends due to the fact that they have to air-dry...

I want to make a patchwork bag for a laptop and random other things.?

We travel a lot and are planning to leave this summer, before we go i'd like to make a patchwork bag to carry some of my essential entertainment items.

I make custom patchwork bags so here is how I would go about it...

Buy fabric, wash and dry it, iron it.
Cut it into patches (whether you are doing them all the same size or in a quilt pattern- you have to figure that part out).

What kind of purses should I bring to Disney World in Florida?

A.small shoulder bag with strap(patchwork tons of color)
B.Large Purple tote bag
C.Small Pink Tote bag
D.Small Black Book Bag
E.Drawstring Book Bag

Skip the shoulder bag for sure. I would bring a bookbag type of bag. I brought a drawstring bag but the strings are not very comfy by the end of the day. I wore tank tops and the strings really cut into my shoulders. If I had to pick just one I would go with D. Most the rides

PaineFest aims to connect college with community

Josue Concepcion was on a roll Saturday and couldn’t believe his luck. The 9-year-old clutched a plastic sandwich bag in each hand as he left the skeeball booth at PaineFest. Each bag contained a small goldfish swimming in water.

“I can’t believe I won both of them,” Josue said as he handed one of the bags to his sister, Alejandra. “I named this one Paine and that one College.”

The skeeball game was part of the Children’s Village at Paine College’s annual festival for the community. Organizer Helene Carter said all the children’s activities were planned by Paine students who are majoring in elementary education. Activities included sidewalk chalk art, patchwork quilting, face painting and follow-the-leader dancing on a stage. Each hole on the skeeball game was marked with a prize including goldfish, toy cars and cupcakes.

“I spent all my money to get them all,” senior Jacquelyne Telgren said of the prizes. “So I feel good that (the children) are having so much fun.

A Round-up of Novels by Ellen Potter « Allison's Book Bag

What amazes me most about Ellen Potter’s books is how unpredictable they are. Just when I think I have one character or one situation figured out, Potter will reveal a twist. Yet I would never say that her plots are contrived. Ellen Potter also delights me with quirky characters, settings, and situations. Yes, she truly makes all three unusual! Yet with only one exception, I would never say that her unconventional writing feels forced. Last, I’m impressed with how convincingly Potter took on the perspective of an overweight fifth-grade boy. Her other three books are from the viewpoint of precocious preteen girls, making SLOB splashed onto the scene in 2003. Anyone with a bizarre name like Olivia Kidney is bound to have adventures. And so she does, partly because of her dad. Olivia’s dad is an apartment building superintendent. He doesn’t know how to fix things and so is always getting fired....
