Fabulous dish towel
Years ago I discovered there was no better dish towel than a linen-cotton mix. It cuts your drying time in half - never leaves a smear, clears away every drop of water. But they have been increasingly difficult to find. This is a fabulous product - saves time and lasts for years and years. The... -
Nice and absorbent.
I like the size, colors, quality and absorbency. I do notice that they wrinkle very easily, you need to fold or flatten them out with every use.

Shri Lakshmi Cotsyn sets 78% growth target for FY'12
Shri Lakshmi Cotsyn, an India-based textile and home furnishing company, has set a target to achieve Rs. 32 billion in sales during 2011-12, which would be 78 percent more than the Rs. 18 billion posted by the company in 2010-11. The company follows a July to June accounting year.
The company has set such a high target as the expansion of its terry towel division is now complete and its capacity has now grown to 15,000 tons per year from the earlier 3,000 tons per year.
Along with its sales, the firm also expects its net profit to grow from Rs. 1.05 billion in fiscal 2010-11 to Rs. 1.25 billion in fiscal 2011-12, an increase of 19 percent.
In the current fiscal, Shri Lakshmi Cotsyn is expanding its capacities for production of bed linen, denim fabrics, technical textiles and fusible interlining at a cost of Rs. 9.97 billion.

I have nothing enlightening, intriguing or interesting to say about towels. Nothing. I’ve gotttttttt nothin’.
I know this because I’ve sat here staring at my computer screen for about an hour trying to think of a story about a towel. I do not have one. I have the same basic memories of towels everyone else has. They’re nice when they come out of the dryer, they’re great for drying yourself off with and they make an excellent sling for carrying around a mountain goat in a pinch.
So, as I said, I have nothing new to add to the virtues of towels.

Having an appreciation for old fabrics and loving to sew, I have made some of my own dish towels out of vintage-era linen. Vintage linen toweling fabric measures between 15″-17″ across, as does most of the currently available toweling fabric.
To shop for vintage linen toweling, be careful — little has changed with the weave or designs and new linen might be erroneously labeled as old fabric when it is not.
The retro-look has come back into fashion and many vintage linens command high prices. Many linen fabrics from the 1930s-1950s have woven stripes along the sides. Plaids were also popular in the vintage era, as were novelty prints and characters. A number of reproduction fabrics are now available, leading some to believe the linens are vintage when they are merely copies of old linen designs. When in doubt, many stripes and prints can be matched to the manufacturer with some research, giving a bit of history to the linen toweling.
