Customer Reviews:
  1. Looks outstanding!
I just got mine yesterday, and must admit, it looks outstanding! It is certainly "Like New" and that is rather impressive for such an old coin. It shipped in a cardboard window sleeve, and I couldn't be more impressed. Considering it was only a little bit more than the worn loose morgan silver...

Silver Dollars.?
Silver and Rose

I have 2 Silver Dollars in my aquarium, they are just a little larger than palm size. I find them quite strange as I've caught them hanging about upside down in the tank more than once. They don't appear sick and are very alert. Does anyone know...

they are unusual and often lie flat also, i would check your water quality to be sure though and check they have enough oxygen.

How many Silver Dollars in a 75 gallon tank?
1885-O Morgan Silver Dollar

I've been cycling a 75 gallon tank now for a month and everything is at a good level for dollars. I check it every other day. Currently have five mollies in the tank to help with cycling, no deaths and everything is good.
Looking at getting...

Pretty safe to figure 1in. of fish= 1Gal. of water. I a 75 gal tank Silver Dollars will probably reach 2 1/2-3in.. So, putting 8-10 silver dollars in the 75 will still give you some room for bottom feeders. 35yr exp.

Ten things you think you know about Washington

Many people know that George Washington did not cut down a cherry tree. He did not wear wooden teeth or take a silver dollar across the Potomac. But the fiasco of the recent debt ceiling reinforced some of the most common misconceptions about the federal city that bears his name. Here is a list of 10 myths about Washington politics and journalism.

10. The country is bankrupt.

It is a favorite refrain in the corridors of Congress, which spent more on its operations last year that the gross domestic product of 45 nations.

It's a ridiculous statement for a country that has the highest standard in the hemisphere of life and is probably the richest country in world history. We spend $ 18 billion (all figures U.S.) a year to explore space and 1.5 million each on missiles that can hit a few inches of a target 1,500 miles away, are practically free of famine and to provide free education to 55 million children.

1962 Seattle World's Fair - Million Silver Dollars Exhibit ...

At the 1962 World's Fair in Seattle there was a phenomenal exhibit called the "Million Silver Dollars" display. It was literally one million Morgan and Peace silver dollars in one massive pile. According to what I have read, visitors to the fair were able to purchase a silver dollar from the display encased in a nifty World's Fair holder. So here is my question: Has anyone on CT ever run across a Morgan or Peace Dollar in a 1962 Seattle World's Fair holder? I checked eBay but found nothing. Google also came up empty - yet clearly these slabbed coins did exist and the public was able to purchase them. Surely not all of them disappeared. You'd think that most would be retained as a souvenir of both the fair and this unique exhibit. One small correction - it appears that the coins were not sold at the fair....

With FRNs – “Federal Reserve Notes”.

There are several reasons that make this action possible, and only one that might be considered as an unimportant material obstacle.

In favor :

The silver dollar is the money that is still the Constitutional “coin of the realm”, defined by Act of Congress as 371.25 grains of pure silver. (The Troy ounce contains 480 grains.)

The silver dollar is familiar or at least known to almost all Americans. A considerable quantity of these silver dollars is owned by Americans.

The silver dollar is a cherished symbol of a great past.

The monetized silver dollar would ignite a desire to save such as America has perhaps never seen before. The very first thing that must be done, to encourage people to save, is to give them something worth saving . As the US government gallops toward the abyss of bankruptcy by unlimited spending, the American people desperately require a refuge for their savings!
