I personally don't think so, I believe the proof sets are overpriced. You may wish to get a contiguous set to make a more complete collection.

I would like to give my wife proof sets from every country that she has roots in. I am still trying to track down German and Irish proof sets from 1980. Any tips or leads would be helpful. I've tried Ebay and not had too much luck. Thanks so much...
Proof sets from Ireland were not issued on a yearly basis. They made some in 1928 then skipped up to 1966 for the next ones. They did however make a set in 1986. It may be very hard to find and pricey around $100. You can try www.gbcoins.com, www.millersmint.com (U.S & World),
