Hello,
Does anyone know if Eric Chavez and Justin Duchscherer of the Oakland Athletics sign autographs through the mail. Meaning you send them an item a letter and a pre-paid envelope and they send it back to you signed.
Maybe if you're a kid (but a kid wouldn't be that well prepared) or if it's for a kid who can't get to the ballpark for some good reason.

No DeJesus or Pennington again; plus hodgepodge of A's items
From Chronicle Staff Writer Susan Slusser at Safeco Field
David DeJesus remains out of the A's lineup, but manager Bob Melvin said it's not a physical thing, it's more mental. The right thumb is good to go, but DeJesus isn't really letting it fly in batting practice yet. That indicates DeJesus is probably available if needed on the bench, but in order to get back into the starting nine, he can't be favoring that thumb any.
Cliff Pennington is still out with Bell's Palsy, but he told me he is improved from yesterday, and he remains able to close his left eye. The concern today was maybe that the sun could be an issue with the eye, so he'll be off until Friday at the earliest. Pennington thinks he'll be ready to play then, and the A's will be in a dome for the three games at Tampa Bay, anyway. No sun or any wind to dry out that eye, which got dry and blurry when he couldn't close it on Monday.
Here's the lineup behind Gio Gonzalez, with Adam Rosales at shortstop rather than Eric Sogard: Weeks 2b, Crisp cf, Matsui DH, Willingham lf, Jackson 1b, Sizemore 3b, Rosales ss, Sweeney rf, Powell c.

AP Photo/Rob Carr. Gary Gray, left, and his son Carter, right, of Siloam Springs, Ark., sift through baseball cards at the National Sports Collectors Convention, Friday, in Baltimore. The 31st annual convention features dozens of stations, many of which offer discount football and baseball cards along with everything else sports related and then some.
This gigantic trade show is not just for sports fans, even though there were thousands of signed baseballs, countless game-worn jerseys and enough football helmets to cover every head in the NFL.
“Just a little bit of everything and a lot of nothing,” said Rick Walker, who brought much of his inventory from Atlanta to the show. Walker’s station included comic books, coasters, plates, pennants and a miniature pink Cadillac.
The 31st annual convention, which runs through Sunday, features dozens of stations with unopened football and baseball cards from yesteryear. At various places on the floor, grown men eagerly opened one pack after another in hope of filling out their collection....
Oakland Athletics Trade Rumors: Billy Beane Prepares for A's ...
Place to be.
It’s that time of year again. In the heat of hot summer blowout sales, MLB ’s shopping season sparks the most frenzy, fun and fanfare.
No coupons or vouchers are needed. Not when a visit to Oakland will suffice. All you need and all you can have at low-low prices, guaranteed. Shipping cost included!
If a playoff-contending team is looking for marked down players, the Oakland outlets and flea market have a huge inventory of collectables. Their perennial summer blowout is notoriously fully stocked with formidable veterans capable of helping a team toward a playoff push. All items must go, while supplies last!
It’s just another season sale as part of the yearly cycle in Oakland. Last winter, the Oakland Athletics purchased many players of their own, in hopes that with high productivity during the spring and summer seasons, they would appreciate into fall classics.
Alas, that has not been the result, as the A’s have limped into the bargain basement of the AL West, 13 games behind first place Texas . Much blame can be placed on the Athletics’ off-season acquisitions, those glimmering new toys they obtained during the winter.
