Good price, okay sword.
Sword is not of the best quality, but certainly worth the 15 dollar price tag. For a wallhanger, I have no complaints. The kanji script carved into the scabbard is very attractive and adds to the traditional look of the sword. All the wrappings are nylon, but look nice enough. The blade is fairly... -

it's a rat tang sword and came with the tsuka loose. you can take the plastic cap off of the butt end of it and tighten up the nut on it.dull blade . took about 30 minutes to get a good edge on it. on the whole it's worth the money. just dont expect something extaordinary. it's pretty nice for 15...

My boyfriend has always mentioned owning a sword, our one year anniversary is next month and he mentioned he like Katana Swords, I have seen some really nice ones and I know mroe or less how he would like it but besides that I know nothing else.
It depends on what you are looking for. Does your boyfriend know how to use a sword? Does he operate them in martial arts? If it's just to hang on your wall any cheap replica will do.

Top 10 Swords In Film History

The Claymore was a Scottish variant of English long sword, slightly smaller in size but still a great two-handed sword. Claymores were widely used during the fighting with the English border. What makes this special sword, however, is how it is used dramatically in Braveheart.
Due to the small size of Mel Gibson in the Claymore is majestic and almost comical. This speaks volumes about the character of William Wallace, it's just a man, but he faces a giant. Mel Gibson is the only character to use a Claymore in the film, which, while being realistic attracts more emphasis on the size of the blade. The weapon is a Claymore subtle finesse, but a weapon of hackers breaking members.

Byakuya Kuchiki Senbonzakura Manga Series Anime Katana Sword
The moment I lifted this sword out of the box, I knew something was wrong. It was very light as katanas go, and the shade of blue shown in the picture, (very dark blue, almost black) is not the color of the actual sword and sheath; it’s more of a gaudy primary blue. Upon further inspection I discovered dried hot glue oozing out of just about every point of attachment and the hilt cap actually came off in my hand. When I drew the sword from it’s sheath I was horrified to discover that the sheath is actually made of plastic! Having purchased another 24Seven sword that was absolutely beautiful (gorgeous wooden sheath, real ray skin wrap, full tang with a good heft to it), I was very disappointed. The product page doesn’t tell you this but needless to say the sword isn’t full tang and you can clearly see where the wrap on the hilt is glued in place. Anyone with even the most rudimentary knowledge of katanas would tell you that this sword is very cheaply made. The word “CHINA” is printed on the blade as clearly as day. What bugged me most though was the fact that the fabric underlaying the wrap on the hilt was this tacky looking, sparkly gold stuff that bore a striking resemblance to Christmas ribbon and on top of all that it was bunched up and protruding from underneath the hilt cap instead of tucked neatly underneath. Try as I might, I can’t seem to fix this particular flaw. Even with the hilt cap completely off, it’s impossible to tuck the fabric underneath it. Long story short, don’t waste your money. Even the most skilled soul reaper would get killed trying to fight with this piece of crap.

Discussing sword training is an excellent way to tackle the confusion around the benefits and detriments of kata practice….
Katas and Forms DebateFirst, the reason that I poo poo kata practice is purely from a practical-application point of view. I write about practical self-defense.
And I write for people who aren’t necessarily into the historical aspects of a martial art. They want hard-hitting, efficient and effective, fighting methods. Period.
With the above in mind, I feel that forms practice is not your best use of time. You should practice timing and distance, reaction and response, and so forth.
So, does this include katana swords practice?
Katana Swords TrainingIf you are going to be an expert in Japanese swords, then you really should know some formal kata, for demonstration purposes, of course. I suggest something flashy and precise that solidifies your status as...
