Hey - it depends on if its a 3 leg buffalo or 4 leg on the back - if its the 3 leg, you could have a small fortune in excellent condition - the 4 leg - more common, about $5-35. Try to call around coin shops and ask for prices as if you wanted to buy one.

It would be interesting to know how many of the jurors ever collected coins, how many had ever read a single coin newspaper, magazine or guidebook and how many of them knew about the 1935 U.S. Supreme Court's 5-4 decision approving the U.S. Government's "right" to repudiate all domestic debt and contracts in gold (a stealth default by the USA) and by silent implication also the approval of the right to seize gold coins and restrict ownership in a deliberately vague way to only numismatically significant gold coins.
It would not surprise me if all of the jurors were ignorant about a great deal of gold ownership history in the U.S. and gold's role as an economic pillar of freedom in the nation's foundation all the way back to 1792. For example, why didn't the U.S. Government in 1933 seize all of the gold wedding rings and jewelry in the country if the ownership of gold was a national threat?
