I recently acquired a set of silver coins. ( 1 half dollar, 1 quarter, 1 dime, 2 nickels, and 1 penny.) I am planning on selling them on ebay, but I want to know what is there worth before I sell.
You did not mention years. It is difficult to put a value on a coin without a year. Are they proof, uncirculated or circulated? Since the set has two nickels, is it 2004 or 2005? Most US coins from the last 45 years are not silver though some years are worth more than others.

"This is very tax-sensitive money," said Ed Slott, a speaker and author on IRAs who has done shows on public television.

"The problem I see is no one does anything right away," said George W. Smith IV, a certified public accountant at George W. Smith in Southfield, Mich.

19thC Type Set W/ Some UNC Silver | Coin Collectors
This is a nice type set someone had put some effort into. No problems with any of the coins, except for the Morgan which I think has been cleaned (but still looks nice). The Peace dollar is UNC, the Merc is probably MS64, and the Walking Half is AU/UNC. There is no clas, all is silver and copper. All the later coins are UNC as well (rosie, JFK, frank, etc). Will take highest offer after a week. Melt is over $150 alone.
